Superb company. Unlike many of these reviews... CG now take contactless payments after a huge investment in ticket machines (a comfortable 5-digit figure – they'd been cash only for a reason). I do not find their drivers unfriendly, and reckon that the stories stating otherwise are somewhat one-sided. Their vehicles are old because – believe it or not – newer ones are expensive! And their breakdown rate isn't close to as high as made out to be. For such a small company, Cotswold Green does so well – and I hope people support them wherever possible. A Stagecoach monopoly would be very problematic.

The lack of contactless is appauling, on top of the service. They will leave you stranded if you do not have cash (im not even kidding, they do this even if your a minor, which is actually despicable.) Do yourself a favour and just use stagecoach. At least they have contactless and are much nicer.

Amazing old double deckers buses on the 58 with a friendly driver! Loved the journey!

The bus drivers are generally nice however one bus with one of the drivers when stopped on a hill likes to burn out the clutch which leaves smoke inside the bus which leaves one a horrible smell and is a problem for the asthmatic on the bus. It does get you from A to B however steep prices and terrible service means it would just be better to get the stagecoach. Xxx

Really bad service. Parents waited in Stroud to come back to Cirencester. Bus was very late so they decided to go back via Cheltenham on stagecoach. Bus finally turned up only to drive past a passenger waiting and didn’t pick her up probably as he was running so late. Don’t feel like they can be relied upon at all. Also why is there no bus to Bourton especially in the summer when lots of tourists want to go there

really rude driver. my daughter has a concessionary pass and had left the card on the reader for a while it then went red, so she took it off and placed it on again. he then shouted and embarrassed her in front of everyone saying if she had broke his machine ‘all these people who want to go to cirencester are going to be really pleased with you’. she has a disability and learning difficulties so this is absolutely disgusting

Usually an average service. Today my son was left behind because driver didnt have change for the ticket. Was sent to another driver but was already embarrassed enough in front of the kids. No responsibility or care. Just went off without him.

rude drivers, expensive tickets and dirty buses. i'm really surprised, going by what a lot of the other reviews have said, that this company is actually still going. i will definitely be reporting them to the council as cotswold green themselves obviously don't care. also seems like their drivers will give free trips to preferred customers, which is absolutely shocking considering how rude they are to most normal customers. i mean, stagecoach are just as bad but at least they have clean buses, nice(r) staff and are way more consistent

These comments are completely lying well if I compare them to Cotswold green now they are. The drivers are actually really nice well the ones doing the X54 at least. I ended up being late for the bus but a very kind bus driver who was doing it that evening had the decency to wait for my friends and I to hop on. On another occasion a lady who was driving was going down the A419 and an old man wanted to get off on the road going to coats and she was extremely kind and pulled over and let him out even though it wasn't a stop! If you accidently forget your mask most of the drivers still let you on! However there is a driver who isn't very kind s on several occasions I was pretty much at the bus stop and he went storming passed! I ended up having to call my dad who was at work who had to pick me up that was VERY annoying for him. Apart from that great bus company!

I get the Cotswold Green bus into Cirencester daily. Many pupils from Deer Park School also use this bus. I have witnessed, many times, the appalling behaviour of some of the pupils and have on more than one occasion spoken to Deer Park School to express my concerns. However the bad behaviour continues, including bullying, swearing, screaming, shouting and playing loud music. In my opinion the drivers are very professional and patient in this distracting environment. Cotswold Green is the company that will not cancel buses despite bad weather. One example was when the Beast from the East snow hit our surrounding area and I thought I might be stranded in Cirencester. Other bus companies cancelled services but I was able to get my bus home because Cotswold Green did not cancel and went out of their way to get me home safely. This company also provides buses for people who live in the surrounding villages who might not otherwise be able to travel where as other bus companies do not provide this service.
